Why is positivity important in your spiritual journey?

Thoughts play a significant role on how we feel and determines our outlook in life. Your social status, health and relationships are affected depending on your attitude. Maintaining a positive attitude will always lead you out of the darkest moments and times.

  1. Positive opportunities

When you are a positive person, you are often easily accessible and easy to talk to. people appreciate more someone who has a positive outlook rather then someone who constantly looks at the negative side of things. This will also make your networking opportunities greater. You are more likely to meet individuals who would uplift and benefit you if you have a winning attitude and positive presence. These open doors to great opportunities

  1. It will lead you to a successful life

Sometimes there are difficulties that arise in your life but positive thinking gives you the strength to face the situation and remain unaffected. However, it is hard to remain positive when a tragedy strikes but you can still prevent yourself from being drowned by your negative circumstances by being present and attentive of your thoughts.

Everyone deals with setbacks at some point in their life but it is important to keep your eye on the prize. High energy, hard work, and a positive outlook will guide you towards great success, despite the challenges met along the way.

  1. Reduces stress

Studies show that being positive which goes with a optimistic point of view is a key part of effective stress management. Being able to manage stress, in turn, is associated with many other health benefits. Positive thinking does not mean that you ignore your life’s problems but rather you face the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way.

Health benefits associated with positive thinking include:

  • Increased life span
  • Lower chances of depression
  • Better psychological and physical well-being
  • Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
  • Better coping skills in times of stress

It is not clear why positive thinking experience these health benefits. A theory is that that having a positive outlook enables you to cope better with stressful situations which  reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body.

  1. Makes it easier to identify negative thinking

Positive thinking begins with self-talk which is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your mind. These thoughts can be positive or negative. If your thoughts are mostly positive then you are more likely to easily recognize the negative self-talk. Sometimes it can be confusing.

For example, you had a great day at work where you were complimented on doing your job fast and well. Instead of recognizing that you did a great job, you focus on doing even more work. You magnify the negative aspects of a situation and filter out all of the positive ones.

So keep it positive and every aspect of your life will change for the better.
